“Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the for and the avenger.” Psalms 8:2
I read this verse one week, and a few days later, God gave me a practical experience.
I know these days, I have been rare to see in e-mails and on this blog, and I am sorry. My days see me as an elder sister, assistant in the office, student, and occasionally a teacher in the making(Camps). Its not always easy, but I am doing what God wants me to be doing and that is what I want! So this explains why I’m writing about April happenings in the end of May.
Satan has come to steal, kill, and destroy children’s futures, but GOD has come to GIVE them a bright future. I have seen and heard this firsthand from a story of one of our girls in our sponsorship program.
As a young girl in Class 4, her parents died on a road trip. But her grandpa told her “Your parents are coming home.” She believed him, but the funeral came and she saw her parents.
She was confused.
“No, these are not your parents, they are relatives that look like your parents.”, her grandpa assured her.
Life went on, only for the truth to be revealed.
In class 7, the bomb dropped. The truth was revealed and life became nothing.
“I wanted to commit suicide, because I no longer had a reason to live.”
Satan had come not only to destroyed her future, including her physically body, but specifically her beautiful voice.
As a worship leader, she loves leading worship, but every time she started singing a specific worship song, something started choking her. Satan was trying to prevent her from singing God’s praises, but yet after us praying for her, she was delivered.
“When Operation Hope came in and started showing me Jesus’s love, my life changed. Jesus is in my heart and now I have a reason to live. And I will worship Him for all that He has done in my life.”
The praises and words of a child have power to silence the devil and that is why Satan wants to silence our children. We as parents, teachers, brothers and sisters have a wonderful opportunity and responsibility to rise up to pray for our children, and to teach our children God’s Word in a holistic manner.
In the time of the Puritan’s, children were to be seen, but not heard. Today in the 21st century, let our children be seen and heard, because they are valuable, precious and their praises and words have power.
