I was 18 in my last year of high school, and I had no idea what I wanted to do once I was done, but God knew!!
I had a friend, who came to Kenya to do her schooling. While she was in Kenya, she met Bishop Henry Mulandi – the founder of Christian Church International and African Christian Mission International. So after this connection, I e-mailed him and heard nothing convincing, so I gave up on the idea of going to Kenya. I later found out that he thought I was too young. Bishop and his wife Betty went to Canada July 2013. When I met them, this given up idea, was revived. I introduced myself and they were already planning for me to come. This was surprising news to me, so I prayed! And God spoke! Lets go back a few months, I had went to my brother’s church, and after the service, I was given a prophecy, “God wants you to know that He loves you. You’ve been journelling and seeking God’s will for your life and God wants you to know that the dreams and the desires of your heart are His.” This only made sense the after I met Bishop, and my friend told me to read 1 Timothy 4:14.
“Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.”
This confirmed the word that was given to me a few months ago and than I heard God’s “Yes” to go to Kenya.
God called me to Kenya, to help African Christian Mission International, with their program Operation Hope. Operation Hope is a sponsorship program helping vulnerable children that are sick with HIV/Aids, or their parents have died from HIV/AIDS, leaving the child as a orphan. I work in the office, visit the children, and teach/help at camps, where we teach them about God and encourage them and also this year I’ve moved to the orphanage, Journey of Hope. Journey of Hope is a home to the most vulnerable children in our program. When you change one child’s life, you change a whole generation!
I have been here 2 years, and God has placed a big calling on my heart to help these vulnerable children, who just want love, and are happy with so little!! And at this point, God has called me here indefinitely!!!
I welcome you on this journey.
